M.J. Rose, Author of The Halo Effect

Question:
What is the most outrageous thing you've done to promote your book?

Answer:
Becoming "Jane Gardner" and being my own publicist for my first novel was a little nervy. So was making 1000 postcards for my third novel, Flesh Tones and going to book stores and putting them inside other books that I thought I shared an audience with. But I guess the most outrageous thing was when I was almost run over by a horse and buggy in Central Park. After getting knocked over, I finally got up, shaking and scared to death and saw that the news truck from CBS had arrived. Somehow I realized I should get myself interviewed over the incident so when they asked me my name I could say - M.J. Rose - author of Lip Service. I did it too. Not even aware I had a two inch long cut on my leg that was bleeding through my slacks and needed stitching. Anything to get my book in front of potential readers.

M.J. Rose is the author of The Halo Effect, Sheet Music, Flesh Tones, In Fidelity, and Lip Service.  Visit her at www.mjrose.com.
