Karin Gillespie, Author of Bet Your Bottom Dollar

Question:

Do you think it's important for an author to have an online presence?

Answer:

Authors who don't have web sites annoy me. I read their book; I google them and I can't find them. They are essentially homeless in cyberspace, missing a great opportunity to connect with their readers and market their work.

The minute the ink is dry on his or her book contract, an author should put up a site and start attracting visitors. It's like having your very own billboard on the information highway.

Karin Gillespie, author of "Bet Your Bottom Dollar" a novel coming from Simon and Schuster in July, 2004.
