Likha is a Filipino word. It means "to create." I initially created this site to showcase my art, but through the years, it has evolved into a journal of both my art and writing adventures.
I built this site in September, 2003, with very little knowledge of this phenomenon called "blogging". A friend told me that it would be best to host my site through a blog service so that I can constantly update it. The big question, though, was, what could I possibly write about to keep the site interesting? The question remains unanswered, but I have learned something about Likha readers.
They care.
Likha readers care to know how my pursuit of publication is going. They care to see any piece of writing that I can share. They care to see the progress of my latest painting. They care to know when I get punched, not only during martial arts classes, but also during my regular train rides to work.
And that is the beauty of the blog. It is truly a social revolution. I have connected with people I've never met in person, and some have become good friends. And I've also reconnected with long-lost friends. Even my boss and customers (from my day/ corporate job) know about my site!
I tried my best to organize this site so that it's easy to navigate. I hope you enjoy looking at my work, and please do leave a message to let me know what you think.
Salamat!
